Dola Talks About “Dujone Dujonar” and Her Musical Journey

“If you look at music industries internationally, musicians tend to become complete performers and brands.” — Dola Rahman

Aditi Rahman Dola has proven her mettle time and again as one of Bangladesh’s promising young musical talents. Known for her soulful performances in songs like “Jochona”, “Tumi Chara”, and “Mon Doriya”, the artist recently released “Dujone Dujonar”, where she showcased both her vocal and acting abilities.

“Dujone Dujonar” was lovely. How much did you enjoy making the song?

Thank you very much! We started discussing the project almost a year before its release, when Chishti Iqbal bhai first came up with the concept of the song.

Since March is considered a month of sacrifice, we felt it was fitting to create a story centered around sacrifice — portraying the emotional struggles faced by a woman and her family after losing her partner.

The song was written by Zawad Khalid and composed by Menon Khan & Shafeek Ripu.

This project is dedicated to the brave men and women of the Armed Forces of Bangladesh who dedicate their lives to the safety and well-being of the nation.

The shooting took place at Luxury Resort, and Prito Reza directed the music video. Although he is widely respected for his photography work, this was his first music video production. We had an amazing time during the shoot and created many unforgettable memories together.

Would you share some memorable moments from the shoot?

One moment, in my opinion, truly defined the entire music video experience.

I was nervous before filming a scene where I had to cry, and my make-up artist went to bring glycerin to help me prepare emotionally.

However, I wanted the emotion to come naturally. Eventually, I broke down in tears in front of the camera while filming was already underway.

By the time the make-up artist returned with glycerin, the cameras were rolling and the scene had already been captured naturally.

Crying on camera requires serious acting talent. Have you ever considered acting professionally?

It’s funny you mention that because I’ve already received several acting offers.

However, I currently have no plans to pursue acting professionally. Right now, my full focus remains on music, and I intend to continue dedicating myself to it for the foreseeable future.

Which projects are you currently working on?

There are several exciting projects currently in development, although I unfortunately cannot reveal details yet.

What I can say is that some of these upcoming works may become the best projects of my career so far.

Which of your own songs are you most proud of?

I am especially proud of “Jochona” because that song allowed me to showcase my vocal abilities and received tremendous appreciation from listeners across the country.

“Mon Doriya” will also always remain very special to me because it gave me the opportunity to collaborate with internationally acclaimed artist Papon.

What do you hope to achieve in your musical career?

If you look at the international music industry, artists often evolve into complete performers and recognizable brands.

Artists like Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga have mastered that all-round persona, and achieving something similar is a dream I hope to fulfill someday.
